Grieving and Stages of Grief

WebMD

Grief isn't just reserved for when you lose a loved one. It can also be experienced when we lose a part of ourselves. It can be an inhibiter to getting well, because we fear feeling worse than we already do. It can also be experienced during a spiritual awakening as we mourn that part of ourselves that used to believe in something different.

Depression and Substance Abuse

What Is Drug Addiction

National Institute on Drug Abuse

"Many people don't understand why or how other people become addicted to drugs. They may mistakenly think that those who use drugs lack moral principles or willpower and that they could stop their drug use simply by choosing to.
